Job Description:

The Malay Language Educator (Virtual Teaching) will work closely with the MTL specialists and centres to design and implement engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences through a virtual class modality. The educator will facilitate children’s holistic growth and language acquisition by integrating meaningful and interactive teaching strategies. The role will also involve building strong partnerships with centre leaders and educators, parents and stakeholders to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for every child.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plan and implement OneMTL curriculum and programmes via virtual modality

  • Design and deliver interactive MTL lessons via virtual modality that aligns with OneMTL curriculum standards
  • Conduct face to face MTL lessons at centres at least once a week
  • Evaluate and monitor children’s learning and development to better inform planning and teaching practices
  • Provide regular updates on children’s progress for centre and parents
  • Provide documentation and portfolios for children.

2. Collaborate with stakeholders to create developmentally appropriate learning experiences

  • Assist MTL specialists in development of T&L resources suitable for virtual MTL lessons
  • Provide quality documentation and create portfolios for children
  • Work closely with centre leader and staff to provide support for children’s learning

3. Uplift professional practice of teaching and learning

  • Participate in regular meetings at HQ to enhance relevant teaching and learning practices
  • Co-facilitate workshops and professional development sessions

4. Perform any other tasks assigned by Management

Job Holder Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Qualification: Recognized Diploma in Early Childhood (L2 is preferred) and/or Diploma/Degree in a relevant field

Other Knowledge / Skills / Attributes:

  • Prior teaching experience via virtual modality is an added advantage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders
  • Passionate about learning and confident with using tech tools and platforms (i.e. Microsoft Teams etc.) for teaching and learning
  • Strong team player with initiative and good time management skills
  • Willing to travel to multiple locations
