Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking an Engineering Assistant to support maintenance of electrical and mechanical installations. The ideal candidate has a Nitec qualification and relevant experience in electrical installations and HVAC systems. Duties include troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and involvement in Total Productive Maintenance activities. Candidates must be physically fit and willing to wear personal protective equipment while working in the production area.

Qualifications

• Minimum Nitec or equivalent qualification.
• Relevant experience in electrical installation and maintenance.
• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and servicing HVAC equipment.
• Experience in welding, piping work, and machining.
• Strong computer literacy.
• Physically fit and willing to work shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance of mechanical or electrical installations.
• Provide engineering support across departments.
• Diagnose and repair faulty equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance for minimizing breakdowns.
• Handle instrumentation calibration activities.
• Manage maintenance of the entire facility and troubleshoot duties.
• Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities.

Job description

Reporting to the Manager in the Engineering Department, the selected incumbent shall assist the Engineering team in the following tasks:

Responsibilities

• Assist in the maintenance of mechanical or electrical installations and equipment within the compound.
• Provide engineering support to all depts if required
• Diagnose and repair faulty equipment, perform preventive maintenance to minimize equipment breakdown.
• Carry out instrumentation calibration activities.
• In charge of maintenance and troubleshooting of entire facility duties.
• Involve in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities.

Requirements

• Minimum Nitec or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in electrical installation, PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and electrical maintenance preferred.
• Good technical knowledge with hands-on experience in troubleshooting & servicing HVAC equipment eg chillers, cooling towers, aircon, air compressors etc
• Experience in simple welding, piping work, and simple machining work.
• Computer literacy.
• Physically fit and able to work shifts.
• Positive, easy-going and a good team player.

Note: Candidate MUST BE willing to wear jumpsuit and mask as Personal Protective Equipment while working in the production area.
