Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to oversee the upkeep, troubleshooting, and optimization of food manufacturing machines. The ideal candidate will ensure all equipment operates efficiently, minimizing downtime while adhering to food safety and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement routine maintenance schedules to ensure the reliability and longevity of food processing machines.
  • Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and automation issues and perform necessary repairs to minimize production downtime.
  • Machine Optimization: Monitor machine performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Equipment Installation & Upgrades: Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new machines and upgrades.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure maintenance activities comply with food safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
  • Spare Parts Management: Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts and coordinate procurement for timely replacements.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Keep accurate records of maintenance work, downtime events, and performance metrics.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality assurance, and operations teams to support smooth manufacturing processes.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Education: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in maintenance within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
    • Knowledge of PLC systems and automation is an advantage.
    • Familiarity with food‑grade lubricants, cleaning protocols, and hygiene standards.
  • Certifications (if applicable): Relevant safety or industry-specific certifications are a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem‑solving abilities, teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
Working Conditions:
  • On‑site role with possible shift work or on‑call duties.
  • Requires hands‑on troubleshooting and repair work in a food production environment.
