Job summary

Job Description
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair marine mechanical systems such as engines, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and propulsion systems. Overhaul of diesel engines (main & auxiliary & gear box Overhaul and troubleshooting)
  • HVAC and refrigeration system service, Hydraulic and pneumatic system repair, Fuel injection system calibration, Vibration and condition monitoring
  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance (PPM) on onboard machinery.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults using testing tools and technical manuals.
  • Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Install new mechanical systems and components on vessels.
  • Lead or support system commissioning, ensuring equipment operates according to design specifications.
  • Prepare maintenance reports, service logs, and repair documentation.
  • Update technical records and ensure compliance with marine regulations.
  • Ensure all work meets maritime safety standards, class regulations (e.g., ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s), and environmental laws.
  • Conduct risk assessments and maintain safe work practices on board.
  • Work closely with ship crew, superintendents, and shipyard teams.
  • Provide technical advice and support to clients or vessel operators.
  • Identify required spare parts and manage inventory for mechanical repairs.
  • Liaise with suppliers for parts procurement.
  • Respond to urgent breakdowns either onboard or at port.
  • Provide remote technical support when required.
  • Take initiative to seek opportunities for improvements and implement corrective actions.
  • Comply with all the requirements to carry out the jobs in the shipyards or anchorages.
  • Lifting and shifting heavy components of engine back to the workshop for repair/reconditioning and vice-versa.
  • Any other duties assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Relevant marine / mechanical / engineering qualification
  • At least more than 15 years of experience in Engine Repair & Maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience in trouble-shooting, maintenance and repair is an added advantage
  • Willing to work in a shipyard/anchorage environment
  • Able to work overtime as and when needed
