Job summary

FPT Asia Pacific in Singapore seeks a capable frontend engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and components. You will work in an Agile/DevOps setting delivering production-grade solutions with strong emphasis on performance, accessibility, and security.

You will translate UI/UX designs into responsive interfaces, build reusable components, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines while collaborating with project teams and government-sector standards where applicable.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
• 3+ years frontend development and engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Hands-on Vue.js experience; familiarity with React/Angular.
• Knowledge of modern frontend architecture and reusable components.
• Experience translating UI/UX designs into accessible interfaces (WCAG).
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: code quality, testing, maintainability, performance.
• Experience implementing or managing CI/CD pipelines and frontend build/deploy.
• Experience on cloud platforms (AWS) and UI component development with Storybook.
• Govt sector experience and familiarity with IM8/DSS policies are a plus.

Job description

Role Overview

The candidate will support a design platform portal (Digital Experience Plus) that supports multiple digital services and products, design, develop, and maintain intuitive, high-performance and scalable web applications/components.

The role requires strong hands-on frontend engineering capability, with experience delivering production-grade applications in an Agile and DevOps environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design Platform Operations:

• Collaborate with Project/Product teams to refine user stories and translate them into technical requirements
• Design, develop, and maintain responsive and accessible web components that deliver excellent user experiences.
• Implement and enforce frontend best practices, including component reusability, performance optimization, and accessibility.
• Ensure frontend security best practices, including protection against XSS, CSRF, and other vulnerabilities. This includes integrating static code analysis and application security testing tools (e.g., SonarQube, Fortify on Demand) into the development workflow, as well as supporting broader security assessments such as web vulnerability scans, penetration tests, and cloud infrastructure penetration tests.
• Document technical decisions, architectural patterns, and frontend best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

Core Technical Skills:

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
• At least 3 years in frontend development and engineering experience
• Strong hands-on development with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Strong experience with Vue.js / Vue Framework (and any other design frameworks such as React and Angular)
• Good understanding of modern frontend architecture, reusable components and responsive web development
• Experience translating UI/UX designs into intuitive, responsive and accessible user interfaces; familiarity with UI/UX best practices and familiarity with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including code quality, testing, maintainability and performance
• Adherence to software craftsmanship principles, ensuring clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Experience implementing and/or managing CI/CD pipelines and frontend build/deployment processes
• Experience developing, deploying or operating web applications on cloud platforms (e.g. AWS).
• Experience using Storybook for UI component development and documentation.
• Preferred proven experience in supporting / completion of government sector systems
• Preferred familiarity with Government Instruction Manual 8 (IM8) policies and Digital Service Standards (DSS)
