Job summary

A leading engineering and construction firm in Singapore is seeking a qualified supervisor to manage underground construction activities. The role involves supporting engineers, managing site workers, and ensuring safety compliance on various projects. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience and relevant certifications. This position requires the ability to work shifts effectively and oversee hands-on training for workers involved in tunneling and related tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in supervision of temporary works and underground structures.
• Must know how to train in erecting segments and ring building.
• Ability to perform shift work including day and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with works to ensure they are completed as scheduled.
• Manage and supervise site workers for each shift.
• Ensure work completion aligns with contractor program safely, with no incidents.
• Supervise tunnel construction activities including shaft sinking and segment placement.

Job description

1) Assist and support Engineers in carrying out works as assigned, and ensuring that the works are carried out to schedule and in accordance to relevant regulations

2) Manage and supervise site workers for each shift

3) Ensure completion of work in accordance to main contractor program and requirements safely with no accidents and incidents

4) Troubleshooting and submit in‑house report

5) Must know how to do hands‑on training to do erecting of segment, ring building etc

6) Able to do shift work (day and night shift)

7) Minimum 5 years’ experience in supervision of temporary works and underground structure or tunnelling

8) Possess Certificate in Building Construction Safety Supervisor and BCSS‑T

9) Supervise and coordinate activities of tunnel construction crew engaged in sinking shafts, boring tunnels, placing tunnel segments, moving shield forward, and excavating in front of shield.
