Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore seeks a qualified Mechanical & Electrical RTO with a diploma in M&E. Responsibilities include reviewing project drawings, supervising M&E works, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years' experience in local educational projects, particularly in ACMV and electrical installations.   • Attend site meetings and assist with safety inspections.
  • Supervise M&E works per regulations and monitor contractor progress.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Review all project drawings (such as shop drawings and as-built drawings) and specifications, and raise any discrepancies and / or potential problems before the Mechanical & Electrical installations commences on site and progressively throughout the entire course of the project
  • Submission of weekly RTO report for the completed M&E works, which shall highlight the progress or any quality issues.
  • Attend site meetings and site walks with Owner and consultants
  • Assist to administer the university’s Safety Management System and conduct periodic inspections on the provision of safety measures together with the Contractor’s site safety supervisor or Contractor representative to ensure that the Contractor complies with the Safety requirements and carry out the works in a safe and proper manner.
  • Check on site quality of works, materials and samples delivered to site, take measures to rectify any non-compliance and report to Superintending Officer / Consultant / Qualified Person on any materials that are not conforming to the specifications
  • Ensure that the contractors carry out their work in compliance with Codes of Practices and requirements of authorities and government agencies, as well as the Employer’s requirements.
  • Supervision of all M&E works as required under the project and mandated under the Building Control Act & Regulations
  • Monitor the progress of work and assist the Consultants to verify contractor’s monthly progress claim against the work completed on site.
  • Travel within the University may be required; free internal shuttle services may be available.
  • Scope of duties may be extended to include other projects at the University’s discretion.
  • Date of commencement: Mid of Dec 2025 (estimated)
Requirements
  • Diploma / NCCS holder or higher in M&E discipline
  • Accredited RTO by IES
  • Min. 5 years of experience as M&E RTO on local projects for Educational Institution projects
  • Experience in ACMV, Plumbing & Sanitary, Electrical and Fire Protection installation.
  • Experience in supervision work for laboratory renovation works
  • Experience with Laboratory environment and systems will be an advantage
  • The successful candidate is expected to work afternoon shift (such as from 2pm to 10pm on 4 of the weekdays and half a day on Sat and Sunday). The working hours to be mutually agreed upon.
