Job summary
A leading engineering firm in Singapore is looking for a Procurement Specialist to maintain procurement databases and manage sourcing of M&E materials. Candidates should have at least 6 years of related experience, strong negotiation skills, and be bilingual in English and Mandarin. Familiarity with Singapore standards and proficiency in MS Office are expected.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of procurement experience in M&E (electrical).
- Experience in sourcing hardware and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with Singapore SS standards for M&E materials preferred.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Maintain and update procurement databases, including supplier lists, material pricing trends, and market fluctuations for M&E materials.
- Collaborate with project teams to source and procure M&E equipment/materials, ensuring on-time delivery and efficient payment processing.
- Procure specialized materials based on project specifications, including: Electrical: Cables,DB, switchgear, conduits, trunking, etc.
- Conduct price negotiations, cost analysis, and supplier benchmarking to optimize procurement costs.
- Generate purchase orders (POs) and prepare monthly procurement reports with supplier performance evaluations.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of procurement experience in M&E (electrical), preferably in construction or building services.
- Experience in sourcing hardware, electrical systems.
- Strong knowledge of contract terms & conditions (experience with FIDIC contracts is advantageous).
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Bilingual in English & Mandarin (to handle technical documents and supplier communications).
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel for cost analysis) and ERP systems.
- Familiarity with Singapore SS standards for M&E materials is preferred.
