Qualifications

  • Engineering qualification relevant to M&E construction.
  • Practical experience in M&E construction.

  • Responsible, organised and proactive; raise issues early.
  • Willing to work night shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.

  • Ensure materials, tools, equipment and access are ready for works.
  • Check workmanship and arrange rectification of defects.
  • Coordinate with other trades to resolve access and sequencing issues.
  • Lead critical site works, shutdowns, inspections, testing and commissioning with site teams.
  • Provide updates on progress, problems and resources required.

Job description

M&E Engineer

We are looking for a practical M&E Engineer to lead and execute ACMV and electrical site works. You must understand how installations are carried out, guide workers clearly, solve site problems and follow through until the work is completed.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, plan and execute daily site works.
  • Direct supervisors, workers and subcontractors. Give clear instructions, set daily targets and check actual progress.
  • Read approved drawings and verify site dimensions, routing, clearances and installation arrangements before work starts.
  • Supervise ACMV installations, including equipment, ducting, chilled water piping, refrigerant piping, drainage, supports and insulation.
  • Supervise electrical installations, including containment, cable pulling, equipment installation, termination and connections.
  • Identify site clashes and installation difficulties, propose practical solutions and obtain necessary direction before proceeding.
  • Ensure materials, tools, equipment and access are ready for the planned works.
  • Check workmanship during installation and arrange immediate rectification of defects.
  • Coordinate directly with other trades to resolve access, sequencing and installation issues.
  • Lead and carry out critical site works, shutdowns, inspections, testing and commissioning with the site teams.
  • Follow through on outstanding works and provide clear updates on progress, problems and resources required.
  • Ensure workers follow site safety requirements and maintain proper housekeeping.
Requirements
  • Relevant engineering qualification and practical M&E construction experience.
  • Good understanding of ACMV and electrical installation methods.
  • Able to read drawings and translate them into clear site instructions.
  • Able to work directly with site teams, lead workers, troubleshoot problems and make sound site decisions.
  • Responsible, organised and proactive. Raise problems early, propose solutions and follow up until closure.
  • Take ownership of assigned works and follow through until completion.
  • Must perform night works and shutdown works, and work on weekends and public holidays as required by project schedules.

Salary will be based on experience, technical competence and ability to manage site works independently.
