Job summary

sggovterp in Singapore is seeking an Executive Engineer/Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical) with a focus on rolling stock and depot engineering. You will join a team of engineers working on MRT trains, depot equipment, and related support systems.

You will develop technical specifications, review supplier designs, and work with cross-functional teams to improve reliability, operation, and maintenance of rolling stock and depot equipment. Some overseas travel for testing and inspections is expected.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical Engineering principles.
• Understanding of MRT system complexity and interfaces.
• Willingness to learn rolling stock and depot equipment design.

What the role is

EXECUTIVE ENGINEER/ ENGINEER (ELETRICAL/MECHANICAL), ROLLING STOCK AND DEPOT ENGINEERING

What you will be working on

You will work with a team of engineers focusing on engineering aspects of Rolling Stock and depot equipment. The projects you will be working on include MRT trains, LRT trains, specialised track maintenance vehicles (locomotives, wagons, rail grinding vehicles, etc.), rail depot equipment (automatic train wash plant, automatic storage retrieval system, underfloor wheel-lathe, etc.) and bus depot equipment (automatic bus wash system, bus testing and maintenance equipment, etc.)

You will have the opportunities to work on developing technical specifications, reviewing design submissions from suppliers and exploring engineering initiatives to improve reliability, operation and maintenance of the Rolling Stock and depot equipment. You will also need to work closely with cross functional teams from different disciplines within LTA, as well as with Railway Operators and contractors to provide support to project teams at various stages.

• Knowledge in Electrical / Electronic /Mechanical Engineering
• Good appreciation of the MRT system complexity and interface requirements. Eagerness to learn and interest in developing expertise in engineering design of Rolling Stock and Depot Equipment
• A team player who is analytical, resourceful and results-oriented
• Self-drive and initiative to learn and work independently towards the common goal
• Willingness to get hands-on experience for site works.
• Able to perform shift work including weekends and public holidays
• Available for overseas travel for train testing and quality inspection
• Good communication, presentation and inter-personal skills
