Job summary

Menrva is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join its Equity Derivatives Trading Engineering team. You will design and build low-latency, high-throughput trading, market data and pricing systems used across global markets.

This role requires strong hands-on Java engineering skills, experience with microservices and streaming technologies like Kafka, and the ability to work in fast-paced, front-office environments.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Core Java experience with low-latency systems.
• Experience building microservices and distributed architectures.
• Knowledge of Kafka or similar streaming technologies.
• Background in Equity Derivatives or trading systems preferred.
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures and performance optimisation.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, front-office engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance low-latency Java applications for equity derivatives trading.
• Build microservices and distributed systems for pricing, risk, and execution workflows.
• Implement high-performance messaging and streaming with Kafka or similar tech.
• Collaborate with traders, quants, and engineering teams on front-office solutions.
• Improve system performance, scalability, and reliability across global environments.
• Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions for continuous improvement.
