Role Purpose
Provide leadership and strategic direction for end-to-end logistics andwarehousing operations. The role drives cost efficiency, service excellence, vendor governance, and operational consistency across multiple markets, with a strong focus on ocean freight and road transportation.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Strategy & Leadership
- Define and execute logistics strategies aligned with business objectives, growth plans, and service expectations.
- Act as the central authority and escalation point for logistics, transportation, and warehousing matters.
- Provide leadership oversight to ensure consistent standards, controls, and best practices across all regions.
Vendor, Contract & Cost Management
- Lead freight sourcing, negotiation and governance of freight forwarders, shipping lines and trucking partners.
- Drive bi-weekly RFQs, long-term contracts, and periodic tenders to ensure cost competitiveness and capacity security.
- Establish and manage vendor KPIs, SLAs, and performance reviews, including corrective action plans.
- Monitor freight market trends and provide strategic insights to senior management.
Operational Oversight & Optimization
- Oversee global execution of sea freight, road transportation, and related logistics activities.
- Ensure effective booking governance, space allocation, and timely shipping documentation.
- Lead initiatives to optimize transport modes, routes, and logistics network design to improve efficiency and reliability.
Process Excellence & Compliance
- Drive process improvement, standardization, and system enhancements to reduce inefficiencies and errors.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, permits, trade requirements, and internal control standards.
- Support audit readiness, risk mitigation, and regulatory adherence across the region.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Finance leaders to meet customer commitments and business priorities.
- Support Finance with freight cost validation, accruals, and settlement governance.
People & Capability Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the logistics team members.
- Set clear performance objectives and conduct annual appraisals with team members.
- Foster a high-performance, customer-centric, and continuous-improvement culture.
