Job summary

Nomura is seeking a Loans Legal Counsel (Vice President) based in Singapore to provide mid-level legal support to SPPC, ALF, and EQS teams across Asia ex Japan. The role focuses on loan transactions, documentation, and risk mitigation with a strong emphasis on bilateral and syndicated lending.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal, regulatory, and reputational risk support for SPPC, ALF, and EQS businesses.
• Analyze complex issues and structure transactions or draft documentation to mitigate risks.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a diverse range of legal documentation for origination, closing, and sell-down of financial risk.
• Escalate critical legal and regulatory risks to senior management and participate in internal committees for new products and structures.
• Supervise and manage external legal counsel to maintain quality and cost efficiency.
