Job summary

EM Services Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking an experienced Lift Technician responsible for repair, inspection, and safe return to service of elevator systems. You will verify safety devices, document actions, and communicate status to staff.

Overtime may be required and on-site work is expected. Candidates should have an engineering qualification (NITEC or equivalent) and proven lift industry experience, with strong debugging skills, attention to detail and good communication abilities.

Qualifications

  • NITEC-equivalent qualification or diploma in engineering preferred.
  • Proven Lift Technician experience with strong lift system knowledge.
  • Ability to read technical diagrams, blueprints and manuals.
  • Familiarity with lift control, electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid motorbike driving license and willingness for call-back work.
  • Able to work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform lift repair works per company procedures within designated timeframes.
  • Inspect lifts before and after repairs to ensure safe, fully operational status.
  • Verify safety devices are functional before returning lifts to service.
  • Report unrepairable issues or parts needing attention to supervisors.
  • Recommend follow-up repairs or component replacements as needed.
  • Document repair records with parts used and actions taken.
  • Inform staff when lifts are Out Of Service and when reactivated.
  • Provide feedback on recurring problems or potential improvements.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and participate in toolbox talks and training.
  • Undertake other ad-hoc duties as directed by supervision.

Job description

Responsibilities:
  • Perform lift repair works in accordance with company procedures, and within designated timeframes.
  • Thoroughly inspect lifts before and after repairs to ensure all issues are resolved and the lift is safe and fully operational.
  • Verify that all safety devices and protection features are in working condition before returning the lift to service.
  • Report any unrepairable issues or parts requiring additional attention to supervisors promptly.
  • Recommend follow-up repairs or component replacements as necessary to maintain lift performance and safety.
  • Document and submit accurate repair records. including parts used, repair actions taken, and lift status updates.
  • Ensure proper communication by informing relevant staff when the lift status is ‘Out Of Service (OMS)' and once it is switched back on.
  • Provide feedback to service mechanics any recurring problems. unusual findings, or potential improvements during the repair process.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and participate in toolbox talks and ongoing safety training.
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc duties or assignments as directed by the reporting Officer / management.
Requirements:
  • NITEC equivalent qualification, relevant certificate or diploma in engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Lift Technician, with a strong understanding of lift systems and their components.
  • In-depth knowledge of lift installation, maintenance, and repair techniques.
  • Familiarity with lift control systems, electrical wiring, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to work at heights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A valid driver's license (motorbike) and be able to carry out call back operation.
  • Able to carry out over time as required.
