Job summary

A consulting engineering firm in Singapore is seeking an experienced professional to assist with inspections and testing of lifts and escalators. Job description
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Specialist Professional Engineers (SPEs) in Lift & Escalator to execute annual no-load and 5-yearly load testing for lifts. Ensure all inspections and testing strictly adhere to applicable standards and regulations set by BCA (Building and Construction Authority) and MOM (Ministry of Manpower).
  • Conduct thorough site audits to verify the proper installation, safe operation, and high-quality maintenance of lifts and escalators, ensuring continuous compliance with safety and performance benchmarks.
  • Execute routine and scheduled lift and escalator inspections in accordance with established company processes. Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and organized records of all inspection results and findings.
Key Requirements
  • Education: Hold a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Certification: Must be registered with IES/ACES under the Lift and Escalator Inspector (LEI) scheme.
  • Experience: Possess a minimum of 5 years of hands‑on practical experience specifically with lifts and escalators, preferably covering the following areas:
    Testing and Commissioning of new lift installations and modernization projects.
    Comprehensive maintenance services, including prompt repair, emergency response/call‑outs, and efficient fault elimination.
    Construction, planning, and design oversight for lifts across various manufacturers.
  • Technical Skills: Solid understanding and practical knowledge of risk‑based assessment methodologies.

    Demonstrated physical and mental fitness essential for safely conducting high‑risk lift and escalator inspections.
