Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Life Operations, the Underwriting Manager will perform new business underwriting assessment, achieve underwriting KPI through active case management and partake in underwriting related projects.

  • Perform new business underwriting assessment within assigned authority, achieving KPIs through active case management.
  • Negotiate with reinsurers for best offer for benefit of customers during facultative underwriting.
  • Maintain and update life underwriting guidelines and other application documents for New Business.
  • Review on underwriting rules and update in AIS/IUW
  • Process new policy applications, conduct quality checks within the departments TAT.
  • Manage and build, a proactive and productive relationship with internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in product development, data analysis and preparation of management report
  • Provide support and training to distribution channels on underwriting requirements.
  • Review and identify areas of process improvement
  • Support in system enhancement, UAT testing and automation initiatives
  • Any other projects as assigned
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of life underwriting experience (IUL underwriting experience preferred)
  • Professional qualification in Life Insurance
  • Experience in product development, business administration and client relationship management
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent analytical skills, ability to define, research and resolve problems
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work effectively under deadlines
  • Committed, take ownership and results-driven
