Job summary

A fast-growing fintech company based in Singapore is seeking a junior to mid-level Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal and regulatory support. This role requires you to navigate complex regulatory landscapes, particularly under the Payment Services Act, while collaborating with senior leadership and product teams. Ideal candidates will have 3–8 years PQE in corporate or regulatory law and strong communication skills. The position is dynamic and requires innovative thinking to align with strategic goals.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of commercial law and regulatory frameworks.
  • Prior experience in fintech, payments, or regulated financial institutions.

Job description

Our client is a fast-growing fintech and payments company expanding their legal team. This junior to mid-level Legal Counsel serves as a key advisor across its regional operations. This role provides end-to-end legal and regulatory support covering commercial contracting, corporate governance, licensing matters, and risk management. Working closely with senior leadership, product teams, and compliance stakeholders, the Legal Counsel will help guide the business through complex regulatory landscapes, particularly those under the Payment Services Act and MAS frameworks.

You will play an instrumental role in shaping policy, mitigating risks, supporting product innovation, and ensuring the company’s offerings remain compliant, secure, and aligned with strategic growth objectives. This role is ideal for a solutions-driven legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Requirements
  • LL.B or J.D.; admitted to the Singapore Bar or a Commonwealth jurisdiction preferred, with 3–8 years PQE in corporate, commercial, technology, or financial regulatory law
  • Strong understanding of commercial law, corporate governance, and regulatory frameworks including PSA, SFA, MAS guidelines, and PDPA
  • Prior experience in fintech, payments, digital assets, or other regulated financial institutions (in-house exposure is advantageous)
  • Strong communication skills, stakeholder management capability, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
