Job summary

SD Legal, established regional law firm with offices across Singapore, Hong Kong and beyond, seeks a capable lawyer to join an established legal team and work on corporate, commercial and IP matters. You will support deal teams and take a lead role in negotiations on sales, marketing, sponsorship, partnerships and joint ventures.

The focus spans Asia with potential exposure to UAE and the US as the business grows.

Qualifications

• 5–10 PQE in corporate and commercial matters.
• Tier 1 law credentials required.
• Combines law firm and in-house experience; secondment ok.
• Experience in TMT with a mix of corporate and commercial.
• Experience supporting product, sales and marketing teams.
• Ability to work with diverse Asian and overseas teams.

Responsibilities

• Support deal teams with ongoing platform expansion and lead negotiations on sales, marketing, sponsorship, partnerships and JV agreements.

Our client is a leading digital platform with offices across Asia (Singapore, Tokyo, Sydney and Malaysia). You will join an established legal team and work on a range of corporate and commercial matters, very exciting opportunity.

Job Description

• You will work closely with the General Counsel to support deal teams with on-going platform expansion. This will allow you to take a lead role in negotiations on sales, marketing, sponsorship, partnership and JV agreements.
• Corporate work focuses on JVs, M&A and Fund-raising to ensure business expansion is correctly managed.
• The main focus will be Asia but as the business expands (short term), exposure and experience in UAE and US will form part of your day.

Requirements

• 5 - 10 PQE
• Education and Law Firm credentials should be Tier 1
• Mixture of law firm and In-House experience (secondment ok)
• Experience in TMT essential, ideally with a mix of corporate and commercial
• Experience supporting product, sales and marketing team
• Softer skills include: Ability to build rapport in short time frames, friendly, high standards on work output, driven but not aggressive
• Ability to work with various cultural backgrounds in Asia and overseas
