A leading energy company in Singapore is seeking a Legal Counsel with 8-10 years of post-qualification experience. The role involves supporting the General Counsel by providing legal advice, assisting on complex projects, and negotiating EPC agreements. Successful candidates should have a Bachelor of Law from a reputable university and excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. The Legal Counsel reports to the General Counsel and will be a key member of the Legal & Compliance function.
The incumbent shall support the General Counsel in providing legal support, including:
Assisting on complex transactional and project-related matters primarily related to development of new facilities/infrastructure;
This includes drafting, reviewing and negotiation of EPC and construction-related agreements such as guarantees, security bonds, project-related agreements such as consultancy and services contracts, Pre-FEED/FEED, NDAs, MOU/term sheets, joint venture agreement, O&M, financing work.
Supporting the review, evaluation and negotiations of SLNG’s procurement contracts including tender documents.
Provision of general legal advice and support on wide range of legal matters from time to time such as employment, disputes and other matters from time to time as assigned by the General Counsel.
Assisting in legal management activities.
Post-qualification experience of 8 to 10 years and admitted to the Singapore Bar, of which at least 4 years of relevant law firm experience /in-house experience in handling EPC contracts.
Previous exposure and experience in the following will be an added and distinct advantage:
Project development work/EPC/M&A/financing transactions
Familiarity with LNG/Gas/Energy industries or experience in a law firm providing legal advice to these industries.
The successful candidate with the following qualities will be looked upon favorably:
Bachelor of Law (LLB) from a reputable university.
