The Legal Counsel is a key member of Certis’ Singapore Market Legal function, entrusted with delivering authoritative legal advice, safeguarding its businesses against legal and regulatory risks, and shaping robust governance frameworks that enable sustainable business growth. As a trusted advisor to senior management, the incumbent will lead complex transactions, strengthen compliance culture, and mentor legal talent to enhance organizational capability.

What You’ll Do:

Legal Advisory & Risk Management: Advise senior management and business units on complex legal issues, including corporate, commercial, regulatory, and compliance matters. Identify and minimise legal risks, support proactive compliance, and deliver practical solutions aligned with business goals.

Contract Management & Transactions: Draft, review, and negotiate high-value contracts including service, licensing, procurement, technology, and joint ventures. Standardise contract templates and support major transactions.

Governance & Policy Development: Design and implement legal policies, governance frameworks and legal training materials. Work with corporate secretarial functions and drive awareness of compliance requirements across the Group through legal training.

Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership: Collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to align legal strategies with business goals. Mentor junior legal professionals and represent the legal function in governance forums.

External Counsel Management: Manage external legal partners for specialised matters, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of legal services.

What You’ll Bring:

Legal Expertise: Honours Law degree with 5 – 7 years PQE; admitted to the Singapore Bar or a common law jurisdiction. Experience in employment law would be advantageous.

Commercial Acumen: Proven track record in corporate and commercial law, with practical, solutions-driven mindset, and strong cross-border and regulatory exposure.

Leadership Impact: Demonstrated ability to lead legal teams, influence senior stakeholders, and drive strategic outcomes.
