Job summary

ALLEN OVERY SHEARMAN STERLING LLP in Singapore seeks an experienced arbitration specialist to support the Singapore arbitration team. You will advise on complex cross-border and multi-jurisdictional disputes, including commercial arbitrations and investment treaty matters, while building strong client relationships.

The role requires a proven track record in APAC disputes, excellent communication, and the ability to collaborate with partners and colleagues in a fast-moving, global firm

Qualifications

  • Experience working in the APAC region.
  • Experience in complex cross-border and multi-jurisdictional litigation for an international law firm.
  • Experience in commercial arbitrations and investment treaty arbitrations.
  • Experience in a broad range of disputes, including large-scale international arbitrations and litigation.
  • Excellent client relationships skills.
  • Strong commercial/business acumen with ability to deliver pragmatic solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to interface at all levels.
  • Collaborative team player in a fast-paced, intellectually rigorous environment.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on a wide range of arbitration matters, including commercial and investment treaty arbitrations.
  • Interface with partners, fee-earners and clients to deliver pragmatic solutions.
  • Contribute to a cohesive, high-performing Singapore arbitration team.

Role requirements

  • Experience working in the APAC region
  • Experience in complex cross-border and multi-jurisdictional litigation work for an international law firm
  • Experience in commercial arbitrations and investment treaty arbitrations
  • Experience in a broad range of disputes, including large-scale international arbitrations, price review proceedings and litigation
  • Excellent Client Relationships skills
  • Strong commercial/business acumen with the ability to deliver creative and pragmatic solutions and advice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface at all levels and particularly to win the respect of the partner and fee-earner community, building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to develop and work in a fast-paced, intellectually rigorous environment
