Job summary

Republic Polytechnic invites applications for a Lecturer in Sustainable Built Environment within the School of Engineering. The role involves designing and delivering HVAC/ACMV and building services courses for diploma students, while integrating smart building tech and AI into teaching.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Sustainable Built Environment, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience in HVAC/ACMV or building services.
• Strong knowledge of energy efficiency, Green Building concepts and sustainability.
• Familiarity with smart building systems, building analytics, BIM or IoT is advantageous.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver lessons to full-time diploma students in HVAC, ACMV, Building Services Engineering.
• Integrate industry-relevant technologies such as smart building systems, building analytics, digitalisation and AI.
• Develop CET programmes for adult learners and industry professionals.
• Design assessments and curriculum development, course delivery and student learning responsibilities.
• Supervise student internships, final-year projects and industry-based learning activities.
• Mentor and guide students in their academic, professional and personal development.
• Lead Technology, Innovation and Enterprise projects, including industry consultancy, commissioned projects, applied research and innovation initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for industry-funded projects, grants and collaborations with companies, government agencies and professional bodies.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders in the Built Environment sector to support education, innovation and industry engagement.
• Participate in programme administration, outreach activities and other school-wide initiatives.
