Job summary

sggovterp is seeking an industry-engaged educator to advance Precision Engineering and smart manufacturing education. You will design and deliver learning experiences in Precision Machining, CAD, Metrology, and Industry 4.0 while mentoring learners to think critically and solve complex engineering challenges.

You will lead applied R&D and industry collaboration projects, supervise student projects, and manage lesson planning, assessments, and student engagement with a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

  • A relevant degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience in manufacturing or precision engineering.
  • Experience with CNC machining, CAD/CAM, IoT in manufacturing, and metrology is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver PET and CET curricula in Precision Machining, CAD, Metrology, and Industry 4.0.
  • Lead industry collaboration projects in CNC machining and Industry 4.0.
  • Guide and mentor learners through academic and career development.
  • Supervise student projects.
  • Plan lessons, assessments, projects, and student engagement.
  • Support school's administrative and operational tasks.

What the role is

Join a collaborative team of engineering educators committed to advancing Precision Engineering and smart manufacturing education. You will design and deliver authentic learning experiences in Precision Machining, CAD, Metrology, and Industry 4.0, bridging real-world applications with classroom practice. You will also lead industry collaboration initiatives, mentoring learners to think critically, innovate confidently, and solve complex engineering challenges. You are an industry-engaged practitioner with a passion for emerging manufacturing technologies and a commitment to developing adaptable, future-ready engineering talent.

What you will be working on
  • Design, develop, and deliver curriculum for both Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) in areas such as Precision Machining, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Metrology, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Lead and contribute to the development of applied R&D and industry collaboration projects, especially in CNC machining and Industry 4.0 domains.
  • Guide and mentor learners through academic, project, and career development, including supervision of student projects.
  • Undertake academic-related responsibilities such as lesson planning, assessment, project supervision, and student engagement
  • Support School's administrative and operational tasks as and when required
  • Keep abreast of and respond to advancements in Precision Engineering landscape through active engagement with industry and professional bodies/communities.

What we are looking for
  • Relevant degree qualifications in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant industry experience in the Manufacturing or Precision Engineering sector.
  • Candidate should possess relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: CNC Machining (Turning and Milling) Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) IoT applications in Manufacturing environment Metrology and measurement systems, including use of advanced equipment (e.g., CMM, Vision Systems, 3D Scanners) Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, MSSQL)
Preferably
  • Experience in conducting training or delivering technical courses in Precision Engineering topics
  • Experience in sustainability applications in manufacturing
  • Familiarity with AI-based solutions and their implementation within engineering or manufacturing contexts.
