Job summary

Institute of Technical Education is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Lecturer who will contribute beyond teaching by nurturing student potential and lifelong learning. You will engage with industry partners, participate in attachments, and help students apply theory to practice in a dynamic Singaporean environment.

The ideal candidate has solid mechanical engineering background and hands-on experience, with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or in teams.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, with relevant industry experience.
• 3D CAD, FEA and Generative Design expertise is advantageous.
• Experience with manufacturing automation, robots, sensors and PLCs is a plus.
• Data analytics for predictive maintenance and asset monitoring are desirable.

• Engage in industry or consultancy projects to stay updated with evolving industry trends.
• Maintain strong partnerships with industry stakeholders and academic institutions.
• Participate in industry attachments or practical training to continually enhance your skills and knowledge.

What we are looking for:

We are seeking individuals with a strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with at least three years of relevant industry experience in the mechanical or manufacturing sector.

Candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas will have an advantage:

• 3D CAD, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and Generative Design
• Manufacturing Automation (Robots, Sensors, and PLCs)
• Plant Equipment and Machinery Maintenance
• Data Acquisition & Analytics for Predictive Maintenance

Other key attributes:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated, independent, and a strong team player

Those with good and relevant experience can look forward to Senior Lecturer or equivalent positions, with career development opportunities to leadership positions in the Colleges or Headquarters.
