Lecturer in Linguistics and Multilingual Studies (LMS)

The School of Humanities invites outstanding academics to apply for faculty positions at the rank of Lecturer.

The Division of Linguistics and Multilingual Studies invites applications for a full-time lecturer position. The appointment will be on an initial 3-year contract, with possibility of renewal and promotion. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Linguistics, and possess relevant teaching experience at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level. Candidates should specialise in one or more core areas of linguistics including, but not limited to phonetics/phonology, morphology/syntax, semantics/pragmatics, sociolinguistics, and psycholinguistics.

The teaching load for a lectureship is 3-4 courses per semester. The appointed candidate is expected to coordinate and teach a range of core and elective courses in the LMS undergraduate curriculum, as well as the Masters of Arts in Linguistics (MALing) Program. The candidate will also be expected to supervise final year undergraduate theses. While this is a teaching position, a demonstrated commitment and track record of research excellence will be an advantage.
