Job summary

Ngee Ann Polytechnic is seeking a Lecturer in Eldercare for a 2-year contract in the School of Humanities and Interdisciplinary Studies. The role involves teaching modules on ageing, empowerment of seniors, and gerontechnology, with opportunities to lead industry collaborations.

The candidate should have relevant qualifications in social work, gerontology, or related fields, plus eldercare experience and strong project management skills, with flexibility to teach evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Development, Gerontology or equivalent.
• Direct eldercare experience and strong interest.
• Experience in volunteer management, programme and project management in social, community and/or eldercare settings.
• Experience teaching communications related subjects and/or have IT skills is an advantage.
• An agile team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in project/time management with a keen attention to detail.
• Connections within the non-profit, social service, or care sectors.

Responsibilities

• Teach and deliver modules on Perspectives of Ageing, Empowerment & Wellness for Seniors, Inclusive Ageing & Society, Lifespan and Psychology of Ageing, Gerontechnology and Behaviour Design, Social Policy & Legislation in Ageing, Population Health & Ageing, Community Development for Seniors, Intergenerational Service-Learning, and multidisciplinary industry-based projects.
• Lead and identify new initiatives and collaborations with industry, institutes of higher learning and related agencies.
• Stay updated on trends in community solutions and care planning for seniors and integrate these into teaching and project work.
• Handle administrative work relating to teaching and assigned projects.
• Supervise students during internships.
