We are seeking to start this role in July 2026.
Primary Responsibility
To support the quality of teaching and learning for students with learning needs in mainstream classes and/or during withdrawal lessons and to provide high quality support for these students. The support required will focus on the skills, knowledge and understanding of Mathematics, English, and Science. Experience of the IGCSE and IB curricula are an advantage.
Key Accountabilities
- Identification/ monitor and review of students with Additional Needs
 
- In-Class/Small Group or withdrawal Support of targeted students with Additional Needs
 
- Collaboration with staff across the school.
 
- Assist Head of department to organise, and manage appropriate learning environment and resources
 
- Attend relevant meetings as required by the Head Of Department.
 
Key Tasks
- Design, implement and evaluate strategies to support the learning of students with additional needs.
 
- Oversee appropriate LDD provision for students with additional learning needs.
 
- Review LDD in-class provision and level of need on a regular basis in liaison with the HOD
 
- Contribute to the LDD’s termly review of additional needs registers and provision.
 
- Identify students who require learning support through:
- Analysis of Year 6 records
 
- Past records and reports
 
- Analysis of new enrollment entrance assessments
 
- Additional diagnostic tests
 
- Referral process
 
- Monitoring of available data
 
 
- Contribute to the writing and reviewing of Individual Student Plans (ISP’s) for LDD students twice yearly
 
- Monitor and evaluate the academic progress of LDD students on the registers
 
- Assist the HOD to organise appropriate provision for LDD students in their completion of internal/ external examinations and work with the Examinations team to implement this
 
- Inform class teachers/pastoral team of issues relating to LDD students’ learning and well-being
 
- Where appropriate, liaise with parents/guardians and outside agencies to support LDD students
 
- Promote, plan and deliver Study Skills assistance/support to help the development of executive functioning in areas of:
- General Organisation
 
- Effective Study/Revision
 - Time Management
 
- Research Skills
 
 
- Inform HOD of any concerns which require parental attention
 
- Support the HOD to develop a greater understanding and advocacy for inclusion and neurodiversity, raising achievement among all students
 
- If applicable, assist with psychometric assessments.
 
- Keep abreast of developments and initiatives in the area of neurodiversity , additional needs and Inclusion
 
- Share relevant training relating to inclusion with all colleagues
