Job summary

Goltens Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking a capable supervisor to coordinate mechanical overhaul, reconditioning and repair work on engine components.

You will lead a team of Mechanical Fitters, interpret drawings, and ensure timely, quality delivery of services to customers. The role requires planning and scheduling, liaising with other supervisors, and preparing inspection reports and cost estimates for jobs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to interpret technical drawings and other technical documents to determine repair parts and procedures.
• Prepare inspection/calibration reports and spare requisitions for jobs.
• Ability to estimate labour, materials and other requirements for completion of specific jobs.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to superior and Dept. Manager to plan and execute job activities to meet the department’s schedule.
• Lead and supervise a team of Mechanical Fitters in overhauling, reconditioning and repairing engines and parts.
• Ensure quality delivery of services to meet internal and external requirements.
• Coordinate with other department supervisors to ensure smooth job execution and timely completion.
• Receive feedback from subordinates and identify parts for replacement or repair, placing orders as needed.
• Promote focus on job delivery deadlines and maintain proper documentation for reports and requisitions.
• Interpret technical drawings to determine repair parts and procedures and inspect completed work for quality control.
• Plan work efficiently and schedule tasks for the team within time and quality constraints.
• Review work requests to determine personnel needs, procure materials and ensure tools/equipment are ready for use.
• Prepare written estimates of labour, materials and costs for specific jobs when required.

Job description

• Provide assistance and support to his immediate superior and Dept. Manager to facilitate, coordinate and plan to execute job activities to meet the department’s operational schedule on jobs received.
• Execute job orders and delegate to his team of Mechanical Fitters with supervision in performing mechanical overhauling, reconditioning & repairs of 4-stroke and2-stroke engine & parts conveyed to shop.
• Ensure quality delivery of services to meet as internal and external.
• Liaise with other related department supervisors or foreman to ensure smooth running of the jobs to meet the completion time.
• To receive feedback from his subordinates and to identify parts that need to be replaced due to wear, missing of defective and place orders for parts or repair services as deem necessary.
• Promote awareness and commitment to focus on jobs delivery dateline, Preparing inspection/calibration reports and spare requisitions on the jobs for his immediate superior.
• Must be able to interpret technical drawings and other technical documents to determine appropriate repair parts and procedures. Operates and inspects completed work to determine repair success.
• Demonstrates efficient job planning and time scheduling for the team.
• Reviews work requests to determine personnel requirements, procures materials necessary, ensures tools and equipment are available, and establishes a schedule to complete the work within acceptable time and quality parameters.
• Estimate labour, materials and other requirements for completion of specific jobs and provide written estimates when required.
• Initiates discussions on a regular basis concerning work related issues such as conflicts and work performances, with a view to seeking solutions
