Job summary

Volvo Construction Equipment Singapore (PTE.) LTD. seeks a skilled Technician to perform repairs and maintenance on Volvo machines in workshop and on job sites, adhering to dealer and factory standards. The role requires independent work and may involve supervising trainees.

The ideal candidate has a diploma or technical training in diesel engines, hydraulics, powertrains, electrical systems, and at least two years’ heavy equipment repair experience, with strong customer orientation.

Qualifications

• Diploma and/or technical school program in diesel engines and fuel systems, hydraulics and hydrostatics, power trains, electrical and electronics, air conditioning and climate control systems and proper safety & environmental practices
• Minimum 2 years experience in the repair and overhaul of heavy equipment and its components
• Strong interest in equipment technology and mechanical ability
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and technical literature
• Good working attitude, team player
• Strong customer orientation and interpersonal skills with customers
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record an advantage
• Ability to perform heavy physical labour

Responsibilities

• Plan work procedures using related technical literature and experience
• Provide parts recommendations and pre-order parts and materials
• Ensure tools and equipment are available in service vehicles
• Diagnose problems using testing/diagnostic equipment and perform repairs
• Maintain clean and safe work area and proper handling of tools and equipment
• Maintain field vehicle for proper operation and appearance
• Complete job cards, reports and warranty parts handover
• Record daily field work and maintain proper time/parts records
• Complete repairs within dealer performance standards
• Advise customers to resolve operational issues causing failures
• Lead apprentices/trainees as assigned
• Stay up-to-date with heavy equipment technology
• Follow safety policies and report accidents
