Job summary

Manulife Singapore is seeking a dynamic Strategy & Partnership leader to define the Bancassurance strategy and shape the next phase of key banca partnerships. You will translate market insights into clear strategic priorities and investment choices.

In this role, you will develop multi-year roadmaps across Retail, Wealth, Private Bank, SME and Digital, align with annual planning, and present strategic options to senior stakeholders, including internal leadership and partner banks.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, business development or strategic partnerships.
• Demonstrated experience developing growth strategies, evaluating strategic opportunities and building investment cases.
• Strong commercial judgement, analytical capability and executive communication skills.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and work across complex organisational and partnership boundaries.
• Experience leading and developing a small, high-performing strategy team, e.g., as a consulting EM/PL or equivalent strategy leader.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or postgraduate qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Partnership and Business Strategy: Develop multi-year strategy for banca partnerships across Retail, Wealth, Private Bank, SME and Digital.
• Define strategic priorities, segment choices and the future partnership model.
• Align long-term strategy with annual business planning and enterprise priorities.
• Growth and Opportunity Development: Build Horizon 2 and 3 growth agenda; identify new customer, segment, channel, product and partnership opportunities.
• Sponsor the development of strategic options, opportunity assessments and investment cases.
• Market and Strategic Intelligence: Establish systematic view of customer needs, market developments, product trends and competitor activity; translate into strategic actions.
• Partnership Development: Develop strategic roadmap to strengthen the partnership; shape senior partner strategic agendas with Head of Department.
• Strategic Leadership and Execution: Lead Strategy & Partnership working group; present clear strategic choices to Manulife and DBS stakeholders; partner with Transformation to execute priorities.

The role will define the long-term partnership direction, identify new sources of growth, and convert strategic opportunities into clear choices and investment priorities.

Position Responsibilities

• Partnership and Business Strategy
• Develop the multi-year strategy for the banca partnerships across Retail, Wealth, Private Bank, SME and Digital.
• Define strategic priorities, segment choices and the future partnership model.
• Align the long-term strategy with annual business planning and enterprise priorities.
• Growth and Opportunity Development
• Build and oversee the Horizon 2 and 3 growth agenda.
• Identify new customer, segment, channel, product and partnership opportunities.
• Sponsor the development of strategic options, opportunity assessments and investment cases.
• Market and Strategic Intelligence
• Establish a systematic view of customer needs, market developments, product trends and competitor activity.
• Assess relevant regulatory, technology and industry developments.
• Translate intelligence into strategic implications and recommended actions.
• Partnership Development
• Develop the strategic roadmap to strengthen the partnership.
• Shape senior partner strategic agendas alongside the Head of Department.
• Identify opportunities to deepen commercial, customer, digital, data and operating-model interdependence.
• Strategic Leadership and Execution
• Lead the Strategy & Partnership working group
• Present clear strategic choices and recommendations to senior Manulife and DBS stakeholders.
• Partner with the Transformation team to move approved priorities from strategy into execution.

Required Qualifications

• Significant experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, business development or strategic partnerships, preferably within insurance, banking, wealth management or financial services.
• Demonstrated experience developing growth strategies, evaluating strategic opportunities and building investment cases.
• Strong commercial judgement, analytical capability and executive communication skills.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and work across complex organisational and partnership boundaries.
• Experience leading and developing a small, high-performing strategy team, e.g., as a consulting EM/PL or equivalent strategy leader.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualification is advantageous.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in bancassurance or a major bank-insurer partnership.
• Understanding of Singapore’s banking, insurance and wealth-management landscape.
