Job summary

BlockTech, a crypto trading firm, seeks a senior quantitative researcher to own the research agenda end-to-end—from hypothesis and dataset construction to backtesting, live deployment, monitoring, and iteration. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with researchers, traders, and engineers to shape pricing and trading, mentor colleagues, and raise the bar for rigour across the floor.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on quantitative research and/or applied ML with production trading experience.
• Strong academic foundation in a quantitative discipline (math/physics/stats/CS/ML).
• Fluency in Python and modern ML stack (PyTorch/TensorFlow, scikit-learn, NumPy, pandas).
• Deep understanding of overfitting, generalisation, validation design, and feature engineering.

Responsibilities

• Own price-prediction, signal, execution, and anomaly-detection models from idea to live PnL.
• Shape research, backtesting, and trading infrastructure with engineers for rapid production deployment.
• Maintain production models: monitor, diagnose decay, and iterate improvements.
• Set research direction with traders, deciding which trades to pursue and why.
• Mentor colleagues, review work, and raise rigour across the team.
