A healthcare organization in Singapore is seeking an Occupational Therapist. Responsibilities include training caregivers, assessing rehabilitation needs, and implementing therapy programs. Candidates should have a recognized degree in Occupational Therapy and preferably 1 to 2 years of experience in rehab settings. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. Junior roles may also be considered for those without experience.
Various working location: Woodlands Care Home, Tampines Care Home and Bukit Batok Care Home
Job requirements:
Diploma/ Degree in Occupational therapy recognised by the Singapore Allied Health Professional Council.
Preferably 1 to 2 years of experience, with experience in rehab services, nursing homes or hospitals.
Demonstrates good communications and people engagement skills, preferably the use of local languages and dialects.
Good organizational and coordination abilities.
Ability to build and maintain strong networks and partnerships with key stakeholders.
Those with no experience will be considered for junior roles.
Job Description:
Provide training for caregivers in preparation for residents' discharge back into the home environment.
Provide guidance, supervision, and training to occupational therapy students, therapy assistants, junior staff, caregivers, and volunteers in carrying out their duties and implementing programmes to ensure residents receive safe and effective care.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and databases of all residents to support evidence-based treatment and quality care.
Ensure proper and timely documentation of all treatments and interventions provided to residents.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Rehabilitation Manager or Director of Nursing.
Assess and identify the rehabilitation needs of residents; plan, develop, and implement individualized occupational therapy programmes to help restore, improve, or maintain their ability to perform self-care, work, leisure, and other meaningful daily activities.
Regularly evaluate and monitor treatment progress to ensure that interventions are effective and aligned with residents’ changing needs.
Recommend and prescribe appropriate assistive devices to enhance residents’ functional abilities in daily living activities.
Maintain effective communication and collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team, and refer residents to other professionals for further consultation or intervention when necessary.
