We’re hiring a Media Relations Lead, to shape and drive how NUS Enterprise’s story is told—amplifying our role as Singapore’s deep tech and innovation catalyst to global audiences.

What You’ll Do
  • Shape narratives – Develop and deliver strategic media plans that position NUS Enterprise as a global leader in innovation, entrepreneurship, and venture creation.
  • Work with agency partners – Lead and oversee an appointed PR agency to ensure effective media outreach, consistent messaging, and measurable impact.
  • Build relationships – Cultivate strong ties with local, regional, and international journalists across print, digital, and broadcast media.
  • Lead outreach – Proactively pitch stories, respond to media queries, and prepare spokespersons for interviews and media engagements.
  • Protect reputation – Anticipate issues, manage crisis communications, and ensure NUS Enterprise maintains credibility and trust.
  • Measure impact – Track and report media performance, distilling insights to inform future media campaigns and strategy.
  • Collaborate widely – Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure consistent, aligned messaging across platforms.
  • Manage and mentor – Guide a direct report, providing coaching, feedback, and support to strengthen execution and professional growth.
Qualifications

What You Bring

  • 12-15+ years of relevant experience in media relations, public relations, or corporate communications, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Proven track record leading media strategy at scale (national, regional, or global).
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills—able to translate complex research and innovation into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Deep understanding of media landscape in Singapore; familiarity with regional and international media a plus.
  • Strong agency management experience — leading PR firms, not just working with them.
  • Ability to counsel senior leadership directly on media engagement and reputational issues.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands‑on, roll‑up‑your‑sleeves approach.
  • Demonstrated success in issues/crisis communications and executive profiling.
Bonus Points For
  • Experience in higher education, research, deep tech, or start-up ecosystems.
  • Background in issues management or crisis communications.
  • Established media network across innovation, business, start‑up, and technology sectors.
  • Experience managing international PR in key markets such as Silicon Valley, Germany, and Japan.
