Job summary

HTX (Home Team Science & Technology Agency) is seeking an Engineer/Lead Engineer (Ops Systems) to deliver and maintain ICT capabilities through effective planning, management and deployment of resources. You will support and enhance Home Team’s operational capabilities.

The role involves managing ICT system availability, cybersecurity planning, budget/asset control and vendor/contract management, with a focus on compliance with GovTech and MHA security policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related IT working experience.
• Project management certification such as PMP, CITPM or equivalent is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal, spoken and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure availability and reliability of ICT systems.
• Plan and support systems, including CyberSecurity and Disaster Recovery exercises.
• Manage budget and assets for ICT capabilities.
• Monitor, report and participate in monthly maintenance reviews.
• Handle incident and problem management, change and vendor management.
• Oversee contract renewals, risk management and tech refresh/upgrades.
• Prepare papers for budget approvals and decommissioning of old systems.
• Ensure compliance with GovTech and MHA security policies.

What The Role Is

As an Engineer/Lead Engineer (Ops Systems), you are responsible for the delivery and maintenance of ICT capabilities through effective planning, management, and deployment of resources. You will apply professional knowledge and expertise to support and enhance Home Team’s operational capabilities.

What You Will Be Working On

The successful jobholder will be assigned to manage the maintenance and enhancement of ICT systems in SCDF. He/She will be minimally responsible for the following:

• Availability and reliability of the system
• Planning and system support, including CyberSecurity and Disaster Recovery exercises
• Budget and Assets management
• Monitoring and reporting (e.g. system monthly maintenance meetings)
• Problem/Incident management
• Change management
• Vendor management
• Contract management and renewals
• Risk management
• Tech Refresh and System Upgrades, and replacing hardware/software before End-Of-Support (EOS)
• Put up papers for budget and approval
• Decommissioning of old system
• Ensure systems compliance with GovTech and MHA Security Policies

What We Are Looking For

• Tertiary Education in Computer Studies, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent;
• The candidate should have 5 years of related IT working experience;
• Possessing project management certification such as PMP, CITPM or equivalent will be an added advantage;
• Possess good interpersonal, spoken and written communication skills.
