Job description

Hydra X operates regulated market infrastructure for tokenised capital markets. Our clients include banks, exchanges, asset managers and other financial institutions building and operating institutional digital asset markets across Asia.

We hold licences in Singapore, Malaysia and other jurisdictions, and operate production systems that support regulated financial market activity. The systems our engineers build and maintain must meet high standards of reliability, security, auditability and operational resilience.

The role

We are looking for a DevOps / DevSecOps Lead to lead and strengthen our cloud infrastructure, deployment practices, production reliability and infrastructure security.

This is a hands‑on leadership role based in Singapore. You will lead a distributed DevOps team, set infrastructure and deployment standards, strengthen our cybersecurity hardening, and work closely with Engineering, Product, Risk, Compliance and Operations to support production systems across Hydra X.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the DevOps function across Singapore, Indonesia and other distributed engineering teams.
• Own the reliability, scalability, security and operational readiness of AWS-based production infrastructure.
• Architect, deploy and maintain secure cloud infrastructure across production and non-production environments.
• Define and enforce infrastructure standards across cloud architecture, networking, IAM, secrets management, monitoring, logging, backup, disaster recovery and deployment practices.
• Drive infrastructure-as-code practices across the engineering organisation using Terraform, AWS CDK or equivalent tools.
• Build, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines to support secure, reliable and controlled releases across multiple product teams.
• Strengthen cloud and infrastructure security, including hardening, vulnerability remediation, access controls, network segmentation, secrets management and security monitoring.
• Embed DevSecOps practices into the software development lifecycle, working with Engineering teams to improve secure delivery practices.
• Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, logging, observability and incident response capabilities.
• Act as an escalation point for production infrastructure incidents, and drive post‑incident reviews, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support ISO 27001, SOC 2 and regulatory reviews by maintaining technical controls, audit evidence, access records, change records, vulnerability remediation evidence and operational documentation.
• Partner with Product and Engineering leads on capacity planning, performance, cloud cost optimisation, release readiness and disaster recovery.
• Mentor junior DevOps engineers and improve the maturity, documentation and operating discipline of the DevOps function.
• Support digital asset infrastructure projects by establishing repeatable deployment, monitoring, access control and operational support patterns.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, SRE, cloud engineering, platform engineering or production engineering.
• Experience leading, mentoring or managing DevOps / infrastructure engineers.
• Strong hands‑on experience operating production systems on AWS.
• Deep understanding of AWS infrastructure, including ECS or EKS, VPC, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch and cloud security services such as GuardDuty, Security Hub and WAF.
• Strong infrastructure‑as‑code experience, preferably with Terraform.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, including VPCs, network segmentation, ingress / egress controls, VPNs and private connectivity.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in production environments.
• Strong written and verbal English.
• Hands‑on experience with infrastructure security, vulnerability remediation, IAM, secrets management, access controls, hardening and security monitoring.
• Experience with monitoring, logging and incident response in production environments.
• Experience supporting ISO 27001, SOC 2, MAS TRM‑aligned reviews or similar audit / regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript or similar scripting / programming languages.
• Strong Linux and bash fundamentals.
• Based in Singapore.

Good to have

• Background in financial services, capital markets, exchanges, custody, payments or digital asset infrastructure.
• Familiarity with blockchain infrastructure (e.g., node operations, wallet/key management, or smart contract environments) is preferred; willingness to learn and own the process is equally valued.
• Experience with Grafana’s LGTM stack or similar observability tooling.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, CKA, CKS, CISSP or equivalent.
