Designation: Lead, Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the data science practice in Mediacorp, including guiding and mentoring a team of data scientists
• Analyse and translate large amounts of data into meaningful, actionable insights for commercial purposes by applying various machine‑learning and deep learning techniques
• Lead, design and implement quantitative analytical models, including forecasting and predictive models, identity graphs, recommendations and various performance optimization initiatives to enhance business outcomes
• Establish internal benchmarks and best practices in data science approaches
• Support product development effort including understanding business needs, documenting data and data integration requirements, and resolving conflicting business/data architecture rules.
• Become an internal authority on Mediacorp's data tools and data science output
• Support ad‑hoc data science strategic initiatives

Qualifications

• PhD or MS degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Computer Science or related field
• Minimum 10 years hands‑on experience in machine learning or advanced analytics, including designing, developing and deploying data science models
• Relevant team management experience will be essential
• Strong technical capabilities. Proven expertise in developing and implementing a full range of analytical techniques to address commercial challenges
• Proficiency in at least one statistical analysis tool
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (preferably Java, C++, Python)
• Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills are essential for this role
• Strong written and spoken communication skills
• Able to present findings to internal and external business stakeholders confidently
• Basic knowledge of data engineering principles and architecture
