Job description

Position: Laboratory Technician

Work Location: Jurong Island

Work Schedule: Permanent 12-hour shift work rotating (8am to 8pm/ 8pm to 8am)

*This is a contract role until June 2026.

OBJECTIVE
  • Ensure timely delivery of quality products and follow all Quality Control Plans
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receive, collect and sort samples
  • Perform incoming, in-process and outgoing quality checks in a timely manner
  • Document all test results accurately and report deviations
  • Investigate anomalies
  • Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures
  • Follow all Quality Control plans
  • Maintain, calibrate, validate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
  • Participate, if any, in inspection of installations
  • Manage stocks and orders
  • Follow up on audit findings
  • Upkeep laboratory standards and participate in laboratory improvement initiatives
  • Take part in shift handover meetings
  • Other duties as assigned
HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT
  • Partake in all HSEQ activities
  • Enforce waste management
  • Monitor and minimise the environmental impact and energy consumption of laboratory activities
  • Participate in risk studies
  • Incorporate and apply HSEQ corrective actions
  • Comply to HSEQ policies at all times
  • Achieve zero LTI
  • Participate, if any, in incident reporting
EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Education: NITEC or Diploma in Material Science or Chemistry or equivalent.

Knowledge: Organic chemistry, analytical chemistry

Skills: Microsoft Office, LIMS, SAP

Soft skills: Self-driven team player with good communication skills; able to plan and prioritise
