Job description
KEY JOB PURPOSE

As a Laboratory Technician, you will provide essential support to the research team in the development of perovskite solar cells. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing materials, assisting in device fabrication, conducting routine testing, recording experimental data, and ensuring laboratory equipment and facilities are properly maintained. You will play an important role in supporting smooth laboratory operations and contributing to the advancement of perovskite solar cell research.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The job scope includes:

  • Assist in the preparation of perovskite solutions and materials for experiments.
  • Support in device fabrication processes such as thin film coating, laser scribing, and module assembly under the guidance of engineers.
  • Carry out standard testing and characterization of perovskite solar cells (e.g., efficiency testing, stability tests).
  • Record experimental procedures, observations, and results accurately in laboratory logbooks.
  • Prepare samples for analysis and assist in operating laboratory instruments (e.g., SEM, XRD, UV-Vis).
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of laboratory workspace, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Conduct routine calibration and basic maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Collaborate closely with internal colleagues in Singapore to support project needs.
COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Diploma or higher qualification in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Prior laboratory experience, especially in material preparation, device fabrication, or testing, is advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of photovoltaic devices or semiconductor materials will be a plus.
  • Proficient in laboratory techniques, with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions carefully and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Bilingual skills (English & Mandarin) preferred, as some laboratory equipment and manuals are in Mandarin and require basic understanding to operate.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and good housekeeping practices.
  • Thrives under pressure and can handle a fast-paced environment.
    Availability: Able to start immediately or on short notice is a plus.
    Working Hours: 08:30AM - 05:30PM OR 01:00PM - 10:00PM
