Job Overview
The Laboratory Technician supports laboratory operations and quality assurance activities related to polymer materials. This role is responsible for conducting routine and specialized laboratory tests, assisting with QA/QC testing, maintaining lab resources, and supporting the technical evaluation of polymer products.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory tests and analyses in line with standard procedures for polymer samples and formulations.
- Perform QA/QC testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Manage laboratory inventory, maintain daily logs, and ensure proper handling and storage of materials.
- Assist with technical support and update laboratory data with scientific and technical developments.
- Perform regular quality assessments on incoming materials, identifying and resolving quality-related issues promptly.
- Support the development and review of laboratory work procedures and risk assessments to maintain safety and quality.
- Operate laboratory equipment and assist with physical and thermal analysis of polymers (e.g., MFI, DSC, TGA) as required.
- Maintain laboratory safety standards and contribute to Quality, Health, and Safety management systems.
Job Requirements
- ITE or WSQ Diploma in Chemical Technology, Applied Sciences, or a related discipline.
- 1–2 years of prior experience as a laboratory technician, preferably with exposure to polymer materials.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety standards, quality management systems, and QA/QC protocols.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and related software (e.g., Microsoft Office, data analysis tools).
- Good attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Effective communication skills and willingness to learn new laboratory techniques and support ongoing projects.
