Job summary

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) manages the NCFS to ensure safe food and complies with safety standards across laboratories. This role supports the Lab Development Department in implementing laboratory safety, quality management, and security controls, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

You will work with cross-functional teams, oversee safety programs, and help ensure regulatory compliance and high-performing lab operations to support NCFS's scientific mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or safety discipline is required.
• Knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health Regulations and laboratory safety practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Co-pilot) and familiarity with database management systems.
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory safety audits and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
• Review Risk Assessments (RA) and maintain Risk Register.
• Investigate incidents, document findings and follow up on corrective actions.
• Organise and deliver safety trainings for staff and monitor safety performance indicators.
• Maintain Safety and Health Manual and Safety Work Instructions for compliance.
• Manage licences for laboratory operations with SCDF, SPF, NEA.
• Serve as Secretariat to NCFS WSH Working Committee and coordinate actions.
