Job description

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on individual to join the Polymer and Composite Processing (PCP). In this exciting role, you will gain valuable experience in product design and manufacturing of aircraft cabin interior components and composite structures. You will support both research and industry projects, contributing to process innovation, engineering solution development and articles qualification in compliance with Quality Management System/Airworthiness requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Assist Scientists and Engineers in carrying out process trials and experiments for both research and industry projects
  • Perform prototype fabrication, pre-production fitment trials, product quality inspections and material characterization to ensure timely production delivery
  • Source quotations, manage procurement activities and maintain inventory records to support project requirements
  • Maintain accurate records of production work orders, laboratory results, work instructions, and technical drawings
  • Prepare production exposition documentations in compliance with new airworthiness requirements
  • Draft technical reports, and risk assessment/ safe work procedure documents
  • Operate and maintain process equipment, ensuring optimal functioning and an organized workspace
  • Support the innovation and development of polymer processing technologies
JOB REQUIREMENT
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Foundational understanding of polymer and composites, including material characterization and dimensional measurement techniques
  • Strong interest in practical, hands-on work in both laboratory and workshop environments
  • Comfortable with handling heavy equipment operations and performing process troubleshooting
  • A team player with the ability to work independently when needed
  • Proactive and analytical, with a problem-solving mindset and critical thinking skills
  • Strong eagerness to learn new skills, particularly in polymer processing technologies such as thermoforming/injection moulding/additive manufacturing, as well as in mechanical structural testing
  • Prior experience in project management, product design and quality management systems are beneficial.
