Job summary

A leading chemical manufacturing company is seeking a Laboratory Assistant responsible for conducting laboratory tests and quality inspections. The candidate must have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in Laboratory Testing and be knowledgeable about various laboratory equipment. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are essential, along with good communication abilities. This role is based in Singapore and involves maintaining quality records and participating in safety activities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Laboratory Testing (Manual Wet Chemistry or Manual Lab Testing).
  • Good understanding of laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities of Laboratory Assistant

The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for conducting laboratory tests and samples and quality inspections assigned to them by the Supervisor.

They are expected to be knowledgeable on all equipment operating procedures as well as all quality control procedures and competent on the use of laboratory equipment.

Other responsibilities include:

  • raw material process and finished product quality control analysis
  • advance maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of assigned laboratory equipment
  • maintenance of chemicals and consumables inventory, preparation and standardization of chemical reagents and waste management.
  • maintenance of quality records and development of quality procedures
  • Calibration of equipment
  • Conduct and contribute to risk assessment, Quality Procedures and Decision making on quality & maintenance
  • Procurement of materials and budget controls
  • Implementing & Safety Activities
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • NITEC or Diploma in Chemical related studies
  • Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in Laboratory Testing (Manual Wet Chemistry or Manual Lab Testing) and have good understanding of laboratory equipment eg. GC, AAS, Auto-titrator, NIR
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast pace Chemical Manufacturing QC environment
  • Good communication skill and able to collaborate with different functions
