Overview
The L1 Security Engineer is responsible to provide 24 x 7 support for data center operations on a 12-hour shift and to maintain systems and controls that prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, or deletion of information through resources and computer networks.
Responsibilities
- Provide 24 x 7 support for data center operations on a 12-hour shift.
- Maintain systems and controls to protect information assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, and deletion.
- Support logs, categorize, prioritize, track, and route security incidents.
- Handle incidents reported by users or alarms raised by monitoring tools.
- Interact with business technical specialists to guide authentication, authorization, and encryption solutions.
- Investigate known and suspected information security events and develop related reports.
- Conduct hardware and software security alerts as available.
- Respond to IT threats and vulnerabilities to resolve issues.
- Perform routine security risk analysis and evaluate business needs against vulnerabilities and resulting risks.
- Implement change requests and service requests.
- Patch security equipment as required.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Electronics, IT, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience in IT infrastructure operation.
- 12 hours shift working.
- Good to have: customer- and service-oriented mindset, positive work attitude.
- Good knowledge of the following products will be advantageous: Beyond Trust, SEPM, RSA, Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet, and SafeNet.
