Job description
Responsibilities
  • Staff management: Hire, train, schedule, and evaluate kitchen staff, including cooks and porters.
  • Food safety and quality: Enforce all health, safety, and sanitation standards; monitor food preparation to ensure it meets recipe and presentation standards; and ensure proper food handling and storage.
  • Inventory and ordering: Manage kitchen inventory, monitor stock levels, order supplies and food, and control portion costs to minimize waste.
  • Kitchen operations: Oversee the daily operations to ensure smooth workflow, maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization, and ensure equipment is in good working order.
  • Menu and cost control: Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control measures.
  • Customer relations: Address customer complaints and feedback related to food quality.
  • Coordination: Liaise with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service
