Job summary

A local dim sum restaurant in Singapore is seeking a kitchen assistant to support the dim sum chef in the preparation and production of traditional dim sum items. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in dim sum production and be able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This position requires a positive attitude, physical stamina, and the ability to follow recipes and food safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in dim sum production roles is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of traditional dim sum items and cooking techniques is an advantage.
  • Ability to follow recipes, portion guidelines, and food safety protocols.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of dim sum items.
  • Handle production machinery and handmade dim sum.
  • Support the dim sum chef in ingredient preparation and packaging.
  • Maintain hygiene and organization in the work area.
  • Label and store ingredients and finished products.

  • Assist in the preparation of dim sum items
  • Handle production machinery and handmade dim sum
  • Support the dim sum chef in ingredient preparation, mixing, shaping, steaming, and packaging
  • Maintain proper hygiene, cleanliness, and organization in the work area according to food safety standards
  • Label and store ingredients and finished products appropriately
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Company
