Job summary

Join NKS Gourmet as an Assistant Cook in Singapore. You will assist the Cook with food preparation, maintain clean and sanitary kitchen areas, wash dishes, and ensure the Cook has what is needed to run the kitchen smoothly.

Responsibilities include inventory management, handling ingredients, operating kitchen appliances, and contributing to menu development. Shift work is required and experience with North Indian cuisine is preferred.

Qualifications

• Assist the cook in food preparation activities such as cleaning and basic prep.
• Maintain hygiene by cleaning and sanitising prep areas according to standards.
• Wash, disinfect and store utensils and equipment after use.
• Handle ingredients with weighing, purchasing and storage responsibilities.
• Able to cook North Indian dishes and support menu development.
• Able to work shifts as required.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Cook in food preparation activities, such as cleaning, cutting, chopping and peeling food ingredients
• Cleaning and sanitising the food preparation areas based on company and industry hygiene codes and health and safety standards
• Washing, disinfecting and properly storing cooking and kitchen utensils and equipment
• Buying, weighing and storing ingredients and food supplies
• Operating a variety of kitchen appliances and instruments including cutters, knives, mixers and ovens
• Managing inventory, unloading supplies and organising the storeroom
• Develop new menu items while improvising the existing ones.
• Maintain and manage kitchen expenses,food costs, inventory, and staffing with in budgetary limits.
• Able to cook north Indian food.
• Able to do shift work.
