A leading recruitment agency in Singapore is seeking a Safety Management Officer to oversee company SHE activities, conduct safety trainings, and ensure compliance with occupational safety standards. The ideal candidate must hold at least a diploma in Civil Engineering and be open to regional travels. This is a critical role that involves promoting SHE awareness, conducting site inspections, and managing safety personnel to fulfill legal requirements, ensuring workplace safety and health regulations are met.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and measure company SHE activities.
• Conduct Safety Induction for new employees.
• Ensure compliance with occupational safety standards.
• Promote SHE awareness activities and campaigns.
• Assist procurement for safety-related items.
• Apply for WSH performance awards.
• Act as SGSecure representative and provide awareness sessions.
• Conduct periodic site inspections and advise on preventive actions.
• Support site personnel with SHE related matters.
• Work as WSHO cum ECO if needed.
• Provide SHE Plan and management system for project bidding.
• Conduct training needs analysis for SHE training gaps.
• Plan and arrange safety trainings.
• Manage safety personnel and subcontractors.
• Develop safety management group for compliance.

Job description

Job Scope

• Monitor and measure company SHE activities including preparation of statistics / reports.
• Conduct Safety Induction to all new employees
• Ensure legal fulfilment with occupational safety and health standards and yearly ISO 45001 & BizSAFE certification audit requirements.
• Promote SHE awareness activities and campaign to achieve SHE certifications/awards.
• Assist procurement department for the procurement of safety related items.
• Apply for WSH performance awards with WSH Council
• Act as SGSecure representative for the company and provide awareness sessions on nations security initiates
• Conduct periodic site inspections and advise on preventive/corrective actions to ensure compliance by project teams.
• Provide support services such as advisory to site personnel &/or resolve SHE related matters, meetings with clients &/or authorities, and issuance of Personal Protective Equipment.
• To work at the project site as WSHO cum ECO if needed as project employee.
• Provide SHE Plan, Management System and/or procedures to facilitate the projects bidding process.
• Conduct training need analysis to identity SHE training gaps
• Plan & arrange safety trainings with suitable training service providers to ensure that adequately trained or certified personnel resources are available at all times in the Company.
• Manage safety personnel including selection of sub-contractors/outsourcing service providers to ensure legal/contractual requirements are fulfilled.
• Develop safety management group to ensure SHE Management system is implemented in compliance with regulations, laws & employment standards.
