Job summary

Liberty is seeking a Trainee Underwriter to develop underwriter skills within the Financial Risk Solutions team. The role involves pre-underwriting, marketing, and handling standard risks under defined authorities, with opportunities to learn and contribute to product development.

The position emphasizes relationship-building with brokers and clients, support for underwriting decisions, and adherence to Liberty’s quality and pricing guidelines in a global context.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Economics or Finance related degree is preferred.
• Excellent working knowledge of PC based systems and applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and databases is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to maintain relationships with brokers and clients to market Liberty brand and products.
• Assist underwriting in reviewing, rating and underwriting target new and renewal business.
• Learn and apply selling and negotiation strategies to contribute to profitability of product lines.
• Ensure brokers and clients receive high-level underwriting service.
• Understand Liberty's product offerings and compare marketing wordings.
• Input into product development and marketing plans based on research and analysis.
• Review policy terms and endorsements; assist with manuscript wordings.
• Participate in marketing plan execution and learn Liberty operations.
