Job Summary

As a Junior Full Stack Engineer at k-ID, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our public web applications and providing a positive digital experience for our game studio partners and their end-users.

Qualifications
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Entry level engineering experience
  • Experience with Typescript, React, Next.js, Redis, PostgreSQL, S3, and Kubernetes
  • Ability to perform migrations of legacy systems over to newer modern data stores safely without losing data.
  • Experience with modern server-rendered Next.js applications
  • Experience working with UX designers to build delightful frontend user interfaces
  • Desire to work in an early stage, fast-paced environment with a degree of ambiguity
  • Excited to primarily be an individual contributor with a ton of ownership
  • Ability to work during a daily overlap of a few hours with the rest of the team (starting 14:00 UTC)
  • Previous internship working at a start-up or scale-up
  • Basic understanding of legal compliance concepts related to the access of digital services.
  • Excellent communication skills in English
Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical design of a Next.js web application, working with UX designers and lawyers to build a responsive, user-friendly interface, while implementing best practices for web performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Ensure that backend and frontend systems operate smoothly in production by triaging and resolving operational issues.
  • Migrate existing legal systems to new modern workflows while ensuring no downtime or data loss.
  • Help build a positive and inclusive work culture.
