Job summary

A dynamic technology services firm based in Singapore is seeking an experienced Systems Technician to oversee installation, configuration, and support of IT systems. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, hands-on experience with Windows Server and Unix/Linux environments, and effective communication abilities. Candidates should have a good understanding of IT infrastructure and system services. Those with entry-level experience are encouraged to apply as well.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and oversee the installation, configuration, and ongoing support of hardware, software, and network systems for project delivery.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement proactive measures to prevent recurrence of issues.
• Support operational systems in line with contractual Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Perform and manage preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and fault rectification promptly and effectively.
• Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation and reports.
• Diagnose, escalate, and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Undertake standby duties as required.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Windows Server OS and Unix/Linux OS in virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper‑V, etc.).
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Proactive, adaptable, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
• Good knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including:
  Networking: VPN, firewalls, routers, and switches
  Hardware: servers, SAN (Storage Area Networks), and NAS (Network‑Attached Storage) devices
  System Services: Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Exchange/Mail, databases, and web/application servers
• Experience in system/OS hardening and patch management.
• Familiarity with programming languages (SQL, Java, C++, JavaScript) is an advantage.
